Diagnostic Wax-Ups

Indications
A diagnostic wax-up is indicated whenever you need a predictable preview and blueprint for planned changes in tooth shape/position/occlusion—especially for esthetic or full-arch cases.
Material Composition
A diagnostic wax-up is made on a dental cast by adding modeling wax to simulate the proposed tooth contours. The “material composition” depends on whether it’s done as a conventional (analog) wax-up or a digital wax-up.
